Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Playlist Wall ("Playlist Wall," "we," "us," or "our") is an independent tool that helps you organize your own music library. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Playlist Wall to touch as little of your data as possible.

The short version. We do not receive your Apple ID password or payment information. We do not store your audio. Your music stays in your own streaming account. We collect a small amount of information (like an email you give us and some anonymous-ish stats about the size and shape of your library) to run and improve the service, and you can delete it at any time.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to the Playlist Wall website and application (the "Service"). It does not cover Apple Music, Spotify, or any other third-party service, each of which has its own privacy practices.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Information from your music service (only with your permission)

When you sign in with Apple Music, Apple's MusicKit asks for your permission and then lets Playlist Wall read your library so it can display and organize it. From this we may compute and store a small profile of your account, which can include: the number of songs and playlists in your library, your general music taste (for example your most common genres and artists), and your storefront or country. We use this to make the app feel personal and to understand, in aggregate, who uses Playlist Wall.

We do not receive or store: your Apple ID or Spotify password, your payment or billing information, or the actual audio of any song. Authentication is handled by Apple; we only receive a temporary token that lets the app act on your behalf while you use it.

3. How we use information

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited ways:

5. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing, under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share it in that sense), and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

6. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law. When you delete your account, we delete the associated data from our systems within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, and we store secrets on the server rather than in your browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-party services

The Service works alongside third parties such as Apple Music and Spotify. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control.

10. International users

We operate from the United States, and your information may be processed there or in other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact
